Eats. Müsli, always müsli

ImageFor some hours this afternoon I thought about making something real to eat for dinner and got some suggestions at twitter. But during the Arlanda Express trip home I realized that if I am going to bore out in the supermarket and kitchen I won’t be able to go running before midnight and if I choose between training or eating I would in every single case pick training. And that is what I am going to do now when my swiss inspired müsli has been digested.

Work. Dream big & work hard

ImageWhen the working day was over for today I headed to a meeting so I was home pretty late tonight. I was dealing with myself if I should do some to-do’s or go out for a walk but tonight I picked the to-do’s so I also got a chance to watch the TV news. There was a lot of talks about the high unemployment level among young people and I agree that the labour market is not easy to navigate although you have education. But I am convinced it is not impossible to find employment. With enough effort and ambition to make the best out of everything I do belive that everyone who wants to work can find a job. Maybe not the dream job, but a job that provides enough living for putting food on the table. When I think back on my first job it was definitley not a dream of mine but it was a job, I earned my own money, I did something, learned something and got some experience. It was my first real job when I got a salary at my banking account when I just have turned 16 the summer before I started high school. I have always seen myself as an office worker and this summer in 1998 I was working with Excel lists, making diagrams and tables 40 hours a week for six weeks at the nuclear company Westinghouse Electric Sweden. As I said, it was definitley not my dream job, but it was a job and I learned something. I think that many people today think that they will get their dream job right away but I do not think that is realistic in many cases. A boring job is at least better than no job in my opinion and a boring job can lead to experience, contacts, insights and so on, but honestly I am very tired to listen to claims that the labour market is so tough for young people. It is tough, but it is not impossible to find a way to make living. I think the best way to live your dream is to dream big and always do your best.

Travel. Asia tour

Image

My travel plans are as flexible as other peoples travelplans with subway. My first idea was to go to Tokyo this long weekend but I also felt for a visit to Seoul and then the upcoming weekend feels a bit short so I postponed it to June after I been to Moscow. I have not spend May in Sweden in many years so that will be fun. Last year I was in the Caribbean and US, the year before in Singapore and Thailand, the year before that in France and before that I was living in Seoul so it feels like a new world to see how the threes are growing, itching the eyes because of pollen, going for picknics and outdoor wining. The time from now until midsummer must be the best one in Sweden the first half of the year!

Event. Team Uppsala training

Image

The afterworkout of the day this sunny Thursday took place in Uppsala in the royal neighbourhood. Me and the other team coaches in Vårruset team Uppsala had the first team training. On the schedule was intervalls in the hilly surroundings of the castle and some running exersices. It was a great location to run intervalls at with many different hills to choose between in order to avoid getting bored. Now we are foucsing on Vårruset at the 29th of May and my personal goal is to do my best.

Travel. Chillout in CPT

Image

Today I have no sunglasses picture to share since the sun has been covered by clouds. Since the major activities are outdoor ones here in Cape town we planned to go to the world heritage site Robben island but we had bad luck with that plan. There was to windy so no boats were leaving today so we checked out the local markets, walked a walk that was from the Worldcup in soccer in 2010 and drank a coffee at the Waterfront instead before we got really cultural and went to a local African dance and music show. That was an interesting performance held by people from the townships but definitely nothing I would ever see or think seeing if it would have been at home. After that we felt like a dinner was needed so we went to the closest place which happened to be a delicious tapas bar called Fork. Now we are just chilling out because tomorrow a full day of adventures is on the schedule.

Research. Training stats

Image

One thing that not all know about me is that I love figures and numbers. I have always been good and had an interest for satistics and math so not surprisingly I follow up my training in numbers. Like my private economy I do by the end of each month an analysis and Funbeat helps me with the visuals. As you can see from above diagram March has been dominated by running. 28 out of 33 training hours have been cardio training. In terms of hours I do on average one hour training every day throughout the year, so it is not actually that much. With training I mean activities that I need to change clothes for to perform and needs a shower afterwards, thus not taking a walk or similar – and one hour of training a day on average is not that much for a person that has an office job – so to those who think I do a lot of training, here is the real fact showing that I do not and I would never ever do some training that I do not feel for doing. Never ever. Did I mentioned that I just been to a super fun bikram combat with Linn? That was todays well invested training hour.

Thoughts. The Korea crisis

Image

Some years ago when I was on exchange in Seoul, South Korea to study business and politics with a focus on the situation on the North Korean peninsula. I just read a lot of news in the topic since it is of a great interest to me and the situation as it is right now is kind of worrying to me. The nations are provoking each other and no one is going to give up. I just hope that no one will act with force based on false information about their enemy. This is really scary in my eyes.

Research. SATS Hötorget

Image

At SATS Hötorget I have been many other times than on the Blogger bootcamp. Not because I like the SATS itself but because they have classes that suits my schedule. Tonight I was there and this SATS was not impressing me tonight either. It is often dark and dirty. The front desk staff was not that service minded and didn’t even wanted to put me on the waitlist for the GRIT class. They just said it was full. I was not in mode for arguing and wanted to do my training so I warmed up with 30 minutes at the crosstrainer again. A crosstrainer that needed some maintenance since it had a strange sound. Lukily I was in a huge training mode so I put on full speed and ignored the annoying sound. When the crosstrainer session was over I had a combat class booked in. It was scheduled to start at 7 pm, but it was fifteen minutes delayed so I went to the toilet while waiting. The first three toilets I went in to had no paper and was very dirty, so not a big like here. Luckily there are a lot of toilets and the last one in the row was fresh enough to enter. The combat class itself was as always fun and I was very motivated to do my best. Not just be ther and do that, but do it with quality and style so I focused on the technique. The class was thought in English and since I think in English I was very happy about that. So to conclude, SATS Hötorget is a SATS location where you go for a particular class or just training because it is nothing special and I would never ever go into the shower there because the dirt.

Project. Coach P

Image

I have a new fun project to present – in April and May I will be coaching team Uppsala in Vårruset in collaboration with the B.A.B.Y network. You probably know the fun run that takes place in a lot of cities in Sweden? If not, I can tell that it is like Melodifestivalen on tour. But a tour going from city to city where all participants that run or walk the five kilometers course are rockstars. This will be ton’s of fun and my coaching partner Kajsa and I are very motivated to make everyone in the Uppsala team cross the finishline and be proud of what they just have done. But now the coach is tired and therefore it is sleepingtime.

Thoughts. A baby idea

Image

Sometimes, they come from nowhere, baby ideas. I did actually got this idea long, long ago in 2011 when I was in New York in March running in Central park. But now, today it came from nowhere, plopped up to my mind again in version 2.0 so tonight I have researched a bit about this which can be one of the most feasable ideas I have got this year. And funniest.
